A FB fan asked me if I had any natural alternatives to room deodorizers to get rid of unwanted smells such as pet odors. Here are a couple you can easily make at home from ingredients you probably already have.

Easy Natural Spray Deodorizer:

Here is my recipe for a great fabric and carpet deodorizer that you can use in place of Febreze. Mix a cheap vodka & water in a 1:1 ratio in a spray bottle. That’s it! The alcohol causes it to evaporate quickly taking the odor with it.

Like it scented? Add a few drops of an essential oil like lavender (relaxing) or grapefruit (uplifting) which you can buy at the healthfood store.

Wanna keep Fido or Kitty off the couch altogether? Then spray 1:1 water:vinegar on your couch and your dog/cat will avoid it. P-U!

For General Room Deodorizers, nothing works better than Baking Soda!

I hate when I go to someone's house and they have one of those plug-in air fresheners. ACK! Almost as bad is a cheap candle with a chemical fragrance!

Instead, just sprinkle straight baking soda on your carpets and let it sit for a while before vacuuming. Please note, if you have an expensive rug that is naturally dyed such as a Persian carpet, if you leave baking soda on for too long, it will lighten the color in that spot somewhat… so don’t leave it on too long. For everyday carpet, you can usually leave on overnight with no problems. You can also use baking soda on furniture, but again, vacuum it up right away.

And, if you have a really stinky pet problem, leave a hidden box of baking soda open in the room somewhere and it will naturally deodorize the air. The same goes for a bowl of vinegar.

Hi, TNG fans!

Long time, no blog! Been busy since I launched this summer. Promise to post photos here soon.

I was focusing on my facebook fan page and was so happy to have built up 300+ in the past 2 months. Almost as soon as I was celebrating, fb took my page down. Not exactly sure why.

If you look to the left, what used to be a link to my fan page is now a very sad empty space. My girlfriend got the same facebook warning on her home page about violating fb's terms of service but her fan page wasn't taken down like mine was.

Wondering if any of you have had issues with fb and could share your stories with me.

Memorial Day Weekend!

It's here -- the kickoff of summer -- Memorial Day weekend!

Memorial Day was founded to salute the memory of fallen soldiers who died in service to our great country.
And, it's become a day to remember all of those we loved and lost. I used to visit my grandmother's gravesite as a child to lay flowers at her headstone. I miss her so.

Today, I'm thinking of all of those people in my life who have passed on who I still love and miss.

I hope you are spending your weekend somewhere sandy. But wherever you are don't forget to include your loved ones. Our relationships are the most important and valuable assets we have in this life.
Treasure them now and always.

This is the big weekend to Spring Ahead!

For some of you, it's an hour's sleep you won't catch up on till Fall. But, for you sun worshippers,
this is the weekend you've been waiting for! A chance to go out take a walk after dinner
while it's still light out. Time to shake off winter's dust, stretch your bones and
get the hell outta the house already.

It's time to try on clothes, and buy new shoes! Stay up late, and dream of summer love.
For some of you, that means taking care of business downtown! I know the economy's
tanked but that doesn't mean you can't treat yourself once in awhile.

And, Spring is the time!

So, kickoff these warmer days and nights with some Spring rituals. Treat yourself to one
of the following: a great haircut, a sexy pedicure, a smooth wax job! If you can afford all three,
